Diabetes UK

Tackling diabetes – the fastest growing health crisis

There are 4.5 million people in the UK living with diabetes, and 11.5 million more at increased risk of getting Type 2 diabetes. Diabetes can lead to life changing and life limiting complications. But it doesn’t have to. Diabetes UK provides information, advice and support to help people with diabetes manage the condition well. The charity also supports all people affected by and at risk of diabetes, campaigns to improve healthcare and treatment, and funds critical research.

Founded in 1934 by novelist HG Wells and Dr RD Lawrence, the charity aimed to ensure everyone in the UK could gain access to insulin and to promote the study, sharing of knowledge and proper treatment of diabetes. Your micro-donations have helped continue this work, with hundreds of thousands of donations made at Rontec petrol forecourt stores from October 2016 to September 2017. Your support means Diabetes UK will build a world where diabetes can do no harm.
