League of Friends of The John Taylor Hospice

Supporting hospice patients and their carers

The League of Friends of The John Taylor Hospice is a volunteer charity that raises funds to support Hospice patients with life threatening illnesses and their carers. If responds quickly and flexibly to support specific patient needs highlighted by Hospice staff or their family/carer. It also deals with requests from the Hospice for associated project funding. John Taylor Hospice itself funds patient care, staff and running costs by working with tax payers and donations from the community to make every moment matters.

The charity also acts as a support centre for groups such as the bereavement councillors/groups and for the patient relatives who welcome comfort and advice at such a sad time in their lives. Pennies donations have made a significant difference to the League of Friends and the support they can provide the Hospice, including helping fund equipment to relieve patients in chronic pain and innovative sessions to help patients control their symptoms.
