National Deaf Children’s Society
Creating a world without barriers for deaf children & young people
The National Deaf Children’s Society is the leading charity dedicated to creating a world without barriers for deaf children and young people. They believe that deaf children can do anything other children can do, given the right support from the start; that deaf children should be valued by society and have the same opportunities as any other child; and that effective language and communication skills lie at the heart of deaf children and young people’s social, emotional and intellectual development. The charity’s work is split into five key areas including support for families, lobbying and campaigning, and providing vital services including away days, work experience and a dedicated child-friendly website, The Buzz.
The charity also provides information via their helpline, resources and roadshow bus, and has an international arm, Deaf Child Worldwide, which works with some of the 32 million deaf children across the world through partnership with local organisations. Your micro-donations allow the National Deaf Children’s Society to realise its mission – to be the go-to place for information and support on childhood deafness globally, inspiring everyone to give deaf children the support they need. Donating just a few pennies can make a big difference.
