Thames Valley Air Ambulance

Bringing the hospital to the roadside

Thames Valley Air Ambulance (TVAA) provides life-saving medical care across Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. On average they attend three incidents per day, in their 19 hours of operation from 7:00am to 2:00am. As well as the iconic red helicopter, the fleet also includes an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV), and unlike a standard land ambulance both their helicopter and ERV carry an emergency medical doctor. The doctor, along with the paramedic onboard, can deliver advanced medical treatment at the scene of the incident before quickly transferring the patient to the most appropriate hospital for specialist care.

Thames Valley Air Ambulance is proud of pushing the boundaries of medical intervention. They were among the first in the country to carry vital equipment such as blood, plasma, and a blood gas analyser. All of which are critical in the golden hour after a major incident. Thames Valley Air Ambulance relies on the support of the community to continue to save lives which is why your pennies, donated through the digital charity box when you pay by card, are so important.
