Wiltshire Air Ambulance

Funded by you, flying for you

Wiltshire Air Ambulance provides an essential Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) throughout the county and beyond, delivering the best medical care possible to anybody who lives, works or travels in Wiltshire. The paramedics are trained in Critical Care skills, enabling them to perform enhanced procedures and administer additional pain relief and medication. The air ambulance can be ready for take-off in just two minutes and reach anywhere in Wiltshire within nine minutes. The speed of the helicopter, along with the skill of the crew, can make the difference between life and death. Wiltshire Air Ambulance can fly up to 19 hours a day and attends, on average, 2-3 potentially lifesaving missions a day.

The crew is called to all kinds of emergencies, from road traffic collisions to cardiac incidents, child-related emergencies to horse riding and cycling injuries. These incidents are not just in Wiltshire but in neighbouring counties as well. On board the aircraft is all the kit you would find on a land ambulance, plus additional specialist equipment to enable the crew to provide the best medical care possible – in effect, bringing a mobile A&E to the people of Wiltshire. Your micro-donations are really appreciated, as Wiltshire Air Ambulance relies on public support to raise the £3.25 million a year needed to keep this lifesaving service and crew flying. Every penny truly counts!
