It’s been a stratospheric year for Pennies, with a series of record breaking firsts!

Pennies rocket 1. Pizza fans donation frenzy
Domino’s Pizza lovers took generosity to dizzy new heights in the first week of February 2016 – making it the largest week of fundraising over a 7 day period; an incredible 105,911 donations.

2. Toy-shop customers make history
During December 2015, The Entertainer’s customers donated over £30,000 in a single week to the regional children’s charities it supports. This is the most money raised in that time by any Pennies retailer to date.

3. Making headlines
The Pennies digital charity box is now offered to consumers an estimated 1.4million times a week across all of our partners – at terminals, online and in-apps.  That’s more than the combined weekly circulation of five of the UK’s biggest broadsheet newspapers!

Meanwhile, Worldpay became our first payments partner to enable 5 million Pennies donations.  Worldpay added Pennies to their integrated payments systems back in 2011 and, used by partners like Adnams in their Cellar and Kitchen stores, has helped raise big sums for charities Prostate Cancer UK and Alzheimer’s Research UK.

5. Helping more causes, and communities, than ever
We have now granted funds to 115 individual charities, demonstrating that when Pennies is switched on – no matter which sector – it grows vital income for charities by offering the public a simple, and seamless way to give their small change a big purpose. Together we make pennies count.
