If you were ever in any doubt about how quickly a few micro-donations can add up via Pennies, look no further than Adnams Cellar & Kitchen Stores.

Since introducing Pennies to their stores in October 2012, their customers have made an extraordinary 280,000 donations in support of six different regional and national charities.

Recently, donations have benefited Halesworth Community Nursing Care Fund as they work towards launching their brand new Information and Support Centre (ISC).   In just two months, almost £5,000 was raised for the ISC from donations made across Adnams’ 10 East Anglian stores.

The innovative rural centre will allow the charity to expand the services they provide the community, offering support, counselling, and finance and benefits advice to people who have been diagnosed with a life limiting illness, as well as their families, friends and carers.

And of course, donations made via Pennies are just one way funds are being raised.  From coast-to-coast challenges, to a special fundraising music event, the local community has thrown their weight behind the ongoing fundraising campaign too.

The variety of different events that have taken place during the last six months have worked to push the total amount raised ever closer to the target of £714,000.

As ever, a huge thank you to every single Adnams customer who has donated, and helped make projects like the ISC a reality!
