Pennies makes top 20 in annual fintech disruptors ranking 2020
Pennies has been placed 16th in an industry wide ranking of top 100 fintech disruptors for 2020.
In total 250 firms were shortlisted in BusinessCloud’s annual index. Votes were cast by a wide network of individuals, and an independent judging panel made the final decision, which included representatives from TechUK, Women in Payments, NatWest, and Visa.
Alison Hutchinson CBE, CEO of Pennies said:
Pennies is absolutely thrilled to have been recognised by the fintech industry in this year’s BusinessCloud’s ranking. For a charity to feature as highly as we do amongst such important innovators in this space is hugely significant and humbling. This is a recognition not just of Pennies, but the fintech, payments and retail ecosystem involved in unlocking millions of pounds each year for UK charities.
The last six months have obviously presented a challenging landscape, but we have been bowled over at the growing generosity of the UK public to want to donate in small amounts and together make a meaningful difference in supporting so many charities in desperate need of support. We are also excited by the number of new retailers currently joining Pennies’ micro-donation movement – as more brands want to increase their support to the communities they serve and the many hard-working charities working within them.
The full listing of BusinessCloud’s 100 Fintech Disruptors is published today at https://www.businesscloud.co.uk/100-fintech-disrupters-2/ and will feature in Q3’s edition of the BusinessCloud magazine, released next month, October 2020.
