The Emerging Payments Awards recognises and celebrates the best the payments industry has to offer and in 2017, crowned Pennies ‘Best CSR or Charity Initiative’. The award specifically celebrated our work with K3 Retail, unlocking customer donations for retailers including Hobbycraft.
Google Global Impact Challenge
FINALIST 2013
In 2013 Google UK launched the Global Impact Challenge, inviting UK registered charities to tell them how they would change the world using technology. Pennies was selected as one of the ten finalists put in front of the judging panel including Sir Richard Branson, Sir Tim Berners-Lee and Jilly Forster, as well as Google’s Matt Brittin and Jacquelline Fuller.

Organisations shortlisted in this category were recognised for their work promoting charity fundraising online, using the internet to support or help others, raising awareness of causes online or running online campaigns.

Best Not for Profit IT Project
Pennies was presented with the award for ‘best not-for-profit IT project’ in the ‘Project Excellent’ category. Judges were impressed by our partnership with The Entertainer and their (then) payment technology providers Itim and YESpay International, which raised £150K in just one year for the retailer’s chosen charities.
