Pennies and The Entertainer win top ‘not for profit’ IT industry award
The Pennies team is delighted to announce that our project with The Entertainer has won a top IT award.
At the UKIT Industry Awards which took place in a packed out Battersea Park Arena last night, Pennies was presented with the award for ‘best not-for-profit IT project’, beating tough competition from some high profile organisations.
Our project with The Entertainer and payment technology providers Itim and YESpay International, that raised £150K in just one year for charity, grabbed the attention of judges who decided it deserved to be a winner in the ‘Project Excellence’ category.
David Clarke, MBE, Group Chief Executive Officer BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, said: “Our judges were impressed by this exciting and expansive project which gives fresh impetus to community giving.”
The annual awards are described as ‘the Oscars of IT’ and celebrate outstanding performance in the UK computer industry so we felt honoured to have even been nominated.
Thanks to BCS and UK Computing, the award organisers, for such a great evening. Congratulations to all those who were finalists in our category and to the other winners on the night!
