‘Pennies with Zizzi’ scoops Real IT Awards top prize
We’ve had the perfect start to spring here at Pennies with the exciting news today that our partnership with Zizzi’s has won an award. ‘Pennies with Zizzi’ has been crowned project of the year at the 8th Real IT Awards as well as picking up the category prize for Corporate, Social and Environmental Responsibility.
We were proud to be selected as finalists amongst the calibre of projects shortlisted, so to win overall was a wonderful surprise.
Zizzi’s were early adopters of Pennies, nominating The Prince’s Trust as their recipient charity. Since then customers have donated over £50,000 giving 20p at a time.
This may not be the Oscars, but that doesn’t mean we can’t thank key people alongside Zizzi like technology partner Ingenico, who played a key role in Pennies integration.
The judges complemented; “This was such an excellent idea and ticked all the boxes. A real social benefit, true customer engagement from concept to delivery, internal and external partnership – what a neat idea!”
We are glad to see that Zizzi customers seem to agree with nearly 300,000 donations made since the scheme launched. And those donations are beginning to make an impact too. Yesterday we wrote a piece on one of the beneficiaries of the Prince’s Trust Kevin, who has begun his own gardening business thanks to Pennies donations.
