Simon Millard joins Pennies as Chief Partnerships Officer
UK charity Pennies, the trusted leader in micro-donations, is delighted to announce the appointment of Simon Millard as its new Chief Partnerships Officer. Simon joins Pennies from FareShare, where he served as Commercial Food Director since 2021, reducing food waste and enabling social impact by diverting surplus food to nearly 8,500 UK charities and community organisations.
Simon will lead the organisation’s Partnership function (incorporating Business Development, Product and Marketing), overseeing relationships with merchant, payments and charity partners, and scaling the reach and impact of digital micro-donations. Simon also brings extensive experience from his previous roles with Mars, IBM, IRI, and Premier Foods.
Alison Hutchinson CBE, CEO of Pennies, said:
“We are thrilled to welcome Simon to the Pennies leadership team. His proven track record in high-impact partnerships and his passion for social good make him a perfect fit. As Pennies nears its 15th year of operation, Simon’s expertise will be instrumental in ensuring more people have the opportunity to give a little and change a lot into the future.”

Speaking about his appointment, Simon Millard commented:
“I am so excited to be joining Pennies at such a key moment in the charity’s history. The opportunity to help grow a movement that empowers millions of people to make a difference through micro-giving is incredibly exciting. I look forward to working with the team and our partners to unlock more ways for businesses and customers to support vital causes.”
Pennies has already enabled over 284 million micro-donations, raising more than £69 million for over 1,080 charities, and will celebrate its 15th anniversary this November.
The appointment was made possible due to pro-bono support from leading executive search and leadership advisory firm, MBS Group.

About Pennies
Pennies is the trusted leader in micro-donations. They have worked with more than 150 brands since 2010 to enable more than 284 million donations, raising over £69 million for 1,080+ charities.
In an increasingly cashless society, where people still prefer to give little and often, Pennies is ensuring the public still has ways to donate the small amounts that are so vital for charities.
Pennies partners with merchants and payments providers to enable micro-donation opportunities at checkout, helping create huge impact for charities in need. Micro-donations give customers paying by card or digitally a quick, affordable and data-free way to add a small donation to their purchase – in-store, online and in-app.
Pennies’ vision is one day, wherever and whenever people pay by card or digitally, they’ll be given the opportunity to donate a few pence to charity. Making giving simple, every day. Because micro-donations matter.
