Pennies Announces Second Micro-Donation Day on Monday 25th August 2025
Pennies, the trusted leader in micro-donations, is proud to announce the return of Micro-Donation Day on Monday 25th August 2025. Following the success of its first campaign in August 2024 — which raised an impressive £30,000 for life-changing causes through more than 130,000 individual donations in a single day — this year’s celebration promises to be even bigger and more impactful.
Last Year’s Success
The inaugural Micro-Donation Day, held on Monday 26th August 2024, marked a significant milestone for the micro-donation movement – the first national awareness day recognising the power, reach and remarkable impact of small digital donations.
The day raised critical funds for hundreds of charities including Cancer Research UK, MND Association, and Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, all thanks to customers making micro-donations when they shopped with Pennies’ partner merchants.
The campaign extended beyond the day itself, running throughout the week to 1st September 2024, with over 1 million individual donations made across all Pennies partners.
Powerful Partnerships
Micro-Donation Day 2024 featured strong support from a wide range of partners who ran in-store activities, social media campaigns, and match-funding initiatives to maximise the impact of every penny donated — and many will be joining us again for Micro-Donation Day 2025 to continue making a difference.
This year’s participating merchant partners will include: Booths, Central Co-op, Cotswold Outdoor Group, Gatwick Airport, JD Group, Mamas & Papas, Motor Fuel Group, Millbrook Garden Centre, Poundland, Regenerage, The Restaurant Group, Rontec, Screwfix and Shepherd Neame.

Join Us in 2025
This year, Pennies and its partners are preparing for an even bigger celebration on Monday 25th August 2025, with campaign activities planned throughout the week to inspire customers, colleagues, and communities to come together to raise awareness about micro-donations.
- Merchants can unite customers and staff through storytelling, in-store events, and promotions that celebrate the impact of giving.
- Technology and payments partners will highlight the role of innovation in enabling effortless, everyday giving.
- Charities will share the difference these small donations make to the lives of people who need it most.
Every penny counts — and together, we are turning small change into big change for charity.
Since 2010, Pennies has helped millions of people make micro-donations at the point of sale, raising over £67 million through more than 276 million donations for more than 1,080 charities.
