The Fragrance Shop, the UKs biggest independent fragrance retailer, has announced it has raised over £1.3 million pounds, for charities such as Rays of Sunshine as part of the companies ‘Spray a Little Happiness’ initiative.
In 2012, The Fragrance Shop was the first health and beauty retailer to partner with Pennies, giving consumers the option to add a donation to their in-store card purchase. These micro-donations have raised over £235,000 to date, and have been donated by over 4.4 million shoppers. Kind shoppers donate 25p in store to the charity fund via The Fragrance Shop and Pennies. These donations alongside the 5p The Fragrance Shop contributes where the majority of the donation comes from with every online and in-store transaction, totaling over £1.3 million for children’s charities so far, and is rising everyday.
Pennies, an award-winning fintech charity with an important mission: to protect and grow micro- donations, is just one route of charity support for The Fragrance Shop. As part of the ‘Spray A Little Happiness’ charity scheme, the brand also support causes including Rays of Sunshine.
Sanjay Vadera, CEO, The Fragrance Shop, says:
We couldn’t be prouder for The Fragrance Shop to support such important and special children’s charities across the UK. The kindness of our consumers has been humbling, and we thank each and every person who has made a donation with their purchase. Their support does amazing things for children who are suffering life threatening conditions, and means so much to their families. We can’t wait to see how much we can raise in the next year, and look forward to seeing the continued success of our charity partners.
Rachel Laycock, senior corporate fundraising manager at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity, said:
We’d like to thank everyone at The Fragrance Shop for their wonderful support. These funds will help us enhance the experience of the 276,000 children cared for at our hospital each year – it will ensure they continue to receive the highest quality treatment in the highest quality facilities.
