Third of Brits never carry cash, Pennies research finds
The UK’s ever increasing shift to digital payments is leaving the need for good old fashioned cash taking the first steps on the road to extinction. A recent study conducted by Pennies, the digital charity box, has revealed that a staggering 30% of us regularly leave the house without any cash, whilst almost half (47%) of 16-24 year olds use their cards for payments under £2 and three quarters (75%) use their card for payments under £5.
‘Cashless living’ on the rise as younger generation chooses cards over coins
A recent survey on attitudes to charitable donations commissioned by The Pennies Foundation found that one in ten young people in the UK aged between 25 and 34 years never carry cash, instead relying entirely on cards.

The Pennies Foundation welcomes its inclusion in the Government’s Green Paper ‘Giving’, published today, 29 December 2010. Pennies went live for the first time at the start of November 2010 with first retailer, Domino’s Pizza. Their customers can choose to round up to the nearest pound as they buy online.
People want to give change but charity boxes are getting rarer
The Pennies Foundation has found that 9 in 10 adults in the UK give their coins to charity at least occasionally, but that this kind of giving seems to be on the wane.
