In the latest interview in our Advisory Board series, Steve Hughes, Chief Executive Officer of Coventry Building Society, speaks to us about why he’s joined Pennies’ Payments Advisory Board and his belief in purpose.

“Pennies has transformed charitable giving in the UK”
Steve Hughes is currently Chief Executive of Coventry Building Society and is a qualified Management accountant with over 20 years’ experience in senior and board level roles within financial services and consumer goods sectors. Prior to joining the Coventry, Steve had been Chief Executive and Group Finance Director of Principality Building Society, and the Finance Director of the Lloyds Banking Group General Insurance businesses.
Steve has acted as a Non-Executive Director on the main board of UK Finance and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of UK Finance as well as a member of the BSA council. Steve has also Chaired the Welsh Advisory Board of Business in the Community and until recently was a UK trustee of the Charity.
Of his appointment, Steve said:
