The Pennies Awards 2021 were announced at the Pennies Autumn Celebration on 2nd November. The Pennies Awards are a chance to highlight those partners who have gone above and beyond to make micro-donations matter, with the winners were chosen by a panel of industry leaders in retail, hospitality, payments and technology.

Last night a few members of the Pennies team got dressed up to the nines and headed off to the Nominet Internet Awards 2013. Held at the British Library, the awards were celebrating the internet being used as a force for good and we were delighted that Pennies work raising donations online was nominated in the ‘doing good online’ category.

Among The Charity Awards shortlist announced on Tuesday 7 May is an electronic charity box, which offers people the option to add a small donation when paying by card either by rounding up their bill to the nearest pound or by adding a fixed amount of pennies. The Charity Awards are one of the sector’s most prestigious schemes, and the 2013 winners will be announced on 13 June.

Donating a few ‘electronic pennies’ in an Adnams Cellar & Kitchen store may not seem like much, but this small change is already adding up to help to fund services for men with prostate cancer. It’s only been a few months but customers have rounded up over 20,000 times, raising more than £6000 for their charity partner Prostate Cancer UK.
