Ian Filby, Chief Executive of DFS, and Mark Anderson, Managing Director at Virgin Holidays, have joined Pennies’ Board of trustees.
Upon his appointment, Ian said: “I’m a firm believer that philanthropy should be part of good business so I’m both honoured and excited to become a Trustee for Pennies. The concept behind Pennies is simple and effective, founded in the principle that small change can make a big difference.
Mark Anderson said: ‘I’m excited to be joining the team at Pennies at what feels like a tipping point in its impressive five-year growth. It has vastly increased the number of consumers who are able to give ad-hoc to charity – and who have done so over 30 million times. I hope to be able to support Pennies strategically, and to raise greater awareness amongst retailers and consumers of this simple customer journey to giving.”

Pennies Chief Executive, Alison Hutchinson CBE said: ‘We’re thrilled to have Mark and Ian join the Pennies team. Mark brings a wealth of customer experience and communications strategy to our Board to help us build our brand, whilst Ian brings heavyweight retail expertise that will help us gain traction in new markets.
“We look forward to working with them both to ensure thousands more consumers can give their small change a big purpose.”
